駕駛臺航行值班報警系統(tǒng)(BridgeNavigationalWatchAlarmSystem)英文縮寫為BNWAS，主要功能是防止駕駛員在航行值班時不能履行值班職責而使船舶處于無人操縱的危險局面發(fā)生，當上述情況出現(xiàn)時，系統(tǒng)將產生一系列逐步延伸的報警直到引起值班駕駛員或船長及受權的值班員的注意，確保值班駕駛員履行其值班職責。
此外，BNWAS系統(tǒng)還可向值班駕駛員提供即時的求助呼叫措施，任何時候BNWAS系統(tǒng)都處于工作狀態(tài)，除船長禁止之外。該系統(tǒng)符合MSC.128(75)、IEC62616(2010)的要求，適合各類船舶安裝使用；包括前、后雙操舵系統(tǒng)的船舶。
