Tulsion? CMB polymers have chloromethyl functionality and are used for peptide synthesis.Use of such polymers for peptide synthesis was initiated by Merrifield in 1963. The formation of peptide bond starts with reaction of a protected amino acid molecule with chloromethyl group on the surface of the polystyrene polymer. After removal of the protecting group, a new amino acid molecule is reacted to elongate the peptide chain. The elongation is continued with stepwise addition. Excess reagents and byproducts are removed by filtration at each step. The final step in the synthesis involves freeing up of the protecting group as well as liberating the peptidefrom the polymer. Properties of the polymers can be tailor-made to suit individual application needs.
They are made under very carefully controlled conditions using strictest quality standards.
